Jennifer Lawrence And Director Boyfriend Darren Aronofsky Reportedly Split
Jennifer Lawrence and director boyfriend Darren Aronofsky have reportedly split up after dating for over a year.
The Hunger Games star, 27, and the filmmaker, 48, started seeing each other shortly after wrapping up production of their film called Mother! last year.
Keeping A Low-key Relationship
News of their relationship came as a shock to many because of their 22-year age gap, which is probably one of the reasons why the couple decided to keep their romance low-key.
Lawrence and Aronofsky were first spotted on a dinner date in New York City in August. They were also photographed enjoying another intimate dinner with friends in Los Angeles in October.
The two even teamed up to encourage students to get out and vote in November and were pictured again while taking a romantic walk through New York City's Central Park on New Year's Eve.
The couple only made one red carpet appearance together at the premiere of their mystery/thriller film in New York.
Jennifer Lawrence Opens Up About Dating Darren Aronofsky
The couple has kept their relationship away from the public eye but Lawrence recently opened up about how she and the director started dating in The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast. Lawrence revealed that she had an instant crush on Aronofsky when he pitched Mother! to her a year before they started filming.
"We just kind of formed a friendship," she said. "He knew how I felt. He never told me how he felt. I mean, I assumed. We just formed a friendship and then the friendship turned into a partnership for the movie, once we started working. And then once the movie was done, I was like, 'All right! You're my boyfriend.'"
Last Public Appearance As A Couple
A source told Entertainment Tonight that the couple called it quits last month but it was an amicable breakup and they continue to remain friends.
They were last spotted together at the 2017 Governors Awards earlier this month and although the two of them had already broken up, they sat together on a table appeared to be enjoying their evening as friends without any awkwardness, another source revealed.
Aronofsky was previously in a nine-year relationship with My Cousin Rachel actress Rachel Weisz but they broke up in 2010. After which, Weisz went on to marry Daniel Craig. Weisz and Aronofsky have a 10-year-old son together named Henry.
Jennifer Lawrence, on the other hand, previously dated English actor Nicholas Hoult and was also romantically involved with Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
