'Tamar & Vince': Braxton Tells All In First Interview Since Divorce News
While Tamar Braxton’s mother, Evelyn, has been making her media rounds and accusing Tamar’s estranged husband Vincent Herbert of physical abuse, Tamar has broken silence herself in her first sit-down interview since she filed for divorce last month.
It’s safe to say the singer and reality star didn’t hold back as she spoke on the shocking split.
Tamar Braxton Speaks In First Sit-down Interview Since Divorce
Tamar filed for divorce just weeks before she and Herbert would have celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary. Even though she stayed mum about her decision for quite a while, she has now shared details about the breakup and what she hopes will happen in the future as far as custody of their son Logan, 4, and other aspects are concerned.
Tamar first opened up about the new season of Tamar and Vince and said that fans aren’t ready to see the reality of her and Herbert’s broken marriage.
“It’s not biscuits and gravy everyday,” Tamar confessed to PIX 11.
She went on to shut down rumors that she filed for divorce for publicity. Rumors sparked that Tamar wanted attention when she initiated the split just weeks ahead of the premiere for Tamar & Vince. She said doing so would go against what she believes in and her morals.
As for their child, Tamar said it is a tough transition for the tot as he has lived his life with both of his parents by his side at all times. This will be a major change for the child to experience now that Tamar and Herbert are going their separate ways.
Still, Tamar was optimistic that despite the now exes having to split up their time with their child, she and Herbert could come to an agreement together.
Evelyn Braxton Describes Witnessing Abuse
Interestingly enough, Tamar’s mother, Evelyn, has been much more vocal in speaking about the split. She has done multiple interviews and accused Herbert of being physically abusive to Tamar.
In one of her latest with Sister Circle on TV One, Evelyn detailed one night in which she witnessed the abuse herself. She said she heard a loud noise and went to check to see what was going on. That’s when she saw Herbert abusing Tamar physically. She said she ordered him to stop but he not only refused but also turned on Evelyn.
She responded by going to be with Logan and barricading herself in the child’s room. The matriarch added that she didn’t call police because she was convinced Tamar would deny it.
Tamar & Vince airs Thursdays on WeTV at 9 p.m. Eastern or 8 p.m. Central time. Be sure to keep up with Enstars for the latest.
