'Avengers: Infinity War' Photo Of Hawkeye's Wife Hints At The Superhero's New Identity
Hawkeye, who is brought to life on the big screen by Jeremy Renner, may assume a new identity after the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
That's based on a recent photo of the superhero's wife, Laura Barton, played by Linda Cardellini, who posed for shots along with the other actors who took on the roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Marvel Photo Shoot
Vanity Fair ran a story of the Marvel heroes, having all of them strike poses with their fellow actors.
There's Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Paul Bettany as Vision, Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Renner as Hawkeye, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, and many others.
The Theory: Hawkeye's New Identity
The photo in question here is the one with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, and, of course, Cardellini as Hawkeye's wife, Laura.
What's interesting is that Laura doesn't exactly have that much screen time, appearing only in Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, this picture might be a hint that she'll have a bigger role to play in Avengers: Infinity War.
Back in October, shots of Renner wearing a new costume as he walked to work turned up. The getup is black with gold accents, which is similar to the outfit Clint Barton or Hawkeye wears with his other superhero identity Ronin.
To put two and two together, Laura might be more prominent in Avengers: Infinity War because Clint might go solo and turn into a vigilante of sorts. Sure, that might be a bit of a stretch, but hey, it's still a possibility.
Marvel Covers
On a related note, Vanity Fair also had four Marvel covers that feature the superheroes that'll show up in Avengers: Infinity War, including but not limited to the main members of the Avengers and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.
Renner Photos On The Set
Speaking of which, Renner recently posted on Instagram photos on the set. They don't have spoilers or anything like it, but they do show Hawkeye's new do — whether it's a side shave or a mohawk, it's still up for debate.
The takeaway here is that it could be a foretelling of superhero's transition to Ronin, not to mention that the photos of Renner walking also showed him sporting the hairstyle while wearing the new costume.
