Did Sammi Giancola Skip 'Jersey Shore' Filming To Join 'Celebrity Big Brother'?
A new Jersey Shore special, Jersey Shore Family Vacation, was announced on Monday night, but unfortunately for fans of Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, she won’t be heading back to Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
According to a new report, Giancola passed on filming for the upcoming MTV special, which is set to air sometime next year, because she is reportedly in the works on another television project without her famous co-stars.
“Sammi is working on another project,” a source close to Giancola told Radar Online on Nov. 28.
The report went on to reveal that the reality star was likely joining the cast of Celebrity Big Brother for an upcoming season.
The Radar Online insider went on to reveal that in addition to Giancola's allegedly upcoming role on Celebrity Big Brother, she also doesn't want to be anywhere near her ex-boyfriend, Ronnie Magro. As fans of the MTV reality series will recall, Giancola and Magro dated for a number of years while filming seasons of Jersey Shore and maintained an on-and-off romance with each other in the years that followed.
Radar Online noted that while each and every one of the Jersey Shore cast members were invited to return for the reunion special, Giancola didn't want to do so because she can't stand to be near her former boyfriend.
Earlier this year, after calling it quits with Magro for good in 2016, Giancola began dating Christian Biscardi. Around the same time, Magro briefly dated Malika Haqq, his co-star on the second season of Famously Single.
While Sammi Giancola won't be appearing on Jersey Shore Family Vacation, the rest of the Jersey Shore cast, including Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Pauly “Pauly D” DelVecchio, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Ronnie Magro, and Vinny Guadagnino, will be reuniting at their former vacation home.
Radar Online first reported news of an upcoming reunion in July. At the time, Cortese told the outlet that she was ready to get the reunion special started and claimed she and her co-stars wanted to be back together at their shore house. She also said that while they've matured, they still like to have fun.
“Just cause some of us are married and have kids doesn’t mean we don’t go to clubs,” she added.
