How far would you go to show your devotion to a celebrity? For Iranian teen Sahar Tabar, going under the knife 50 times is nothing if it means looking like her favorite actress, Angelina Jolie.

A 19-year-old from Tehran, Iran, Tabar went viral Nov. 30 after media picked up on her transformation. She keeps an Instagram account showcasing her new look, which also entailed sticking to a strict diet that had her losing almost 90 lbs, all in an effort to match Jolie's waif figure.

But while Tabar appears to be pleased with the work she's done and reportedly had done, the same can't be said for people on social media. In fact, many have taken to saying she looks like a corpse or zombie. That instead of looking like Jolie, she appears to have more of a resemblance with the protagonist from Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride. It also doesn't help that Tabar has taken to wearing light blue contact lenses, which makes her look spookier.

Is it Real?

None of the surgeries Tabar had reportedly undergone have been confirmed officially, so some are speculating that the photos she posted on Instagram are photoshopped or done through makeup. Some are even saying that she may have achieved her new look by turning to prosthetics.

However, those that have been following her online for some time have said her appearance is drastically different from her earlier posts. It could be indicative that she had real work done on herself. Tabar's Instagram account doesn't show any "before" pictures but someone posted a quick look at the teen's original appearance on Twitter.

Extreme Transformations

While Tabar's transformation is indeed dramatic, hers is not the only story of extreme dedication.

In Brazil, there's the 33-year-old flight attendant Rodrigo Alves, who in his quest to be a human Ken doll has spent over $1 million in plastic surgery, while Russia has Valeria Lukyanova, the human Barbie. Not to be outdone, Herbert Chavez from the Philippines underwent more than 30 surgeries to look like his favorite superhero character, Superman.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 1.7 million cosmetic surgeries and 14.2 million minimally invasive procedures were done in 2015 in the U.S. The top procedures Americans go under the knife for are breast augmentation, liposuction, nose reshaping, eyelid surgery, and tummy tucks. Botox injections, soft tissue fillers, chemical peels, laser hair removal, and microdermabrasion account for the top minimally invasive procedures in the country.
