George Clooney was released this afternoon after his arrest during a protest outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington D.C.

Clooney posted $100 in bail, according to TMZ.com.

"Really rough you can imagine...Have you ever been in a cell with these guys," the actor joked when asked about his stay in jail, according to the site.

Clooney was arrested along with his father Nick, actor Dick Gregory, Congressman Jim Moran, the President of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Ben Jealous and Martin Luther King III.

There were 15 protesters arrested today, according to TMZ.

Protesters were targeting Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir's for blocking food and humanitarian aid to hundreds of thousands of people in his country.
