With St. Patrick's Day today putting Irish heritage in the spotlight we've compiled a list of five Hollywood stars of Irish descent.
1. Colin Farrell
Farrell was born in Dublin and gained notice with the movie Tigerland in 2000 that earned him a Best Actor Award from the Boston Society of Film critics.
He has starred in The Recruit, S.W.A.T. and Minority Report, among others.
2. Pierce Brosnan
Brosnan was born in Navan, County Meath, Ireland. The actor is best known for his role as James Bond.
3.Liam Neeson
Neeson was born in Northern Ireland. He has been nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his role in the film Schindler's List.
Neeson has starred in numerous blockbusters including Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace.
4. Cillian Murphy
Best known for his role as Scarecrow in Batman Begins, Cillian Murphy is also famous for his distinctive blue eyes.
He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award his performance in the film Breakfast on Pluto.
5. Jonathan Rhys Meyers
The handsome actor was born in Dublin and co-starred with Colin Farrell and Angelina Jolie in the epic Alexander. He also appeared in Velvet Goldmine, Vanity Fair, Mission Impossible III and August Rush.
