Kelly Rowland's fourth studio album Talk a Good Game hit stores on Tuesday and the reviews are a mixed bag.

"Kelly Rowland finally comes into her own on Talk a Good Game, her most focused, consistent and honest album to date," Billboard wrote about the record in a Monday review.

In addition, critics believe the album reveals a side of Rowland that has been hidden since she gained fame in the industry over a decade ago. The album "feels cohesive, versatile, and authentic; and most of all, it's the first time I've ever felt like I know who Kelly Rowland is," Idolator said in its Tuesday review.

Others critics however, don't feel the same. They are especially criticizing Rowland's song Dirty Laundry, in which she airs out feelings about her former Destiny's Child bandmate Beyonce.

"Releasing a confessional comes at a cost: It makes Rowland look a tad desperate. Worse, the song's 'message' obliterates the music, which ambles around without ever finding a melody," said The New York Daily News on Tuesday

In regards to the tune, The Boston Globe wrote on Monday, "As for putting herself out there, it is brave and dramatic stuff. But the track itself, a forgettable slow groove, makes the tune more compelling as confession than music."

In addition, The New York Daily News pointed out another mistake they believe Rowland has made, which is including Beyonce on the album.

"It proves once again that Bey has the most dynamism of the three. In other words, Rowland lets herself get upstaged on her own CD," the newspaper said in regards to the collaboration You Changed.

The song also features the band's third member Michelle Williams.

The album is the follow-up to Rowland's third album Here I Am, released in 2011. That album peaked at No. 3 on Billboard charts.
