Jay-Z gave one brave fan quite the experience during a concert in support of his 4:44 tour. He noticed the fan in the huge crowd thanks to a sign that caught his attention.

Jay-Z Has A Heart Of Gold

It’s safe to say this wasn’t the only sign in the audience at the concert held at Oracle Arena Saturday evening in Oakland, California. Still, Jay-Z couldn’t help but notice it and the woman holding it. The sign read, “I Beat Cancer 2X 2 C U! I LOVE U!!!”

The woman asked for either a selfie or a hug from the iconic rapper. He stopped his concert to give her something better. He told the woman, “You beat cancer twice I gotta give you at least a hug.”

He let her come on stage with him for the unforgettable moment. The two went as far as having a quick conversation as well. The woman, who was later identified as Christina Cruz, also took to her own Instagram to thank the rapper for the love.

Cruz shared snapshots from her spotlight moment and added the caption, “I can’t believe he pulled me on stage and I got to hug him not once but twice!!! Truly a dream come true!! Thank you Jay-Z!!!!” She also changed her profile photo to her and Jay-Z.

Passing On His Compassion

While Jay-Z is known for his catchy and socially-conscious lyrics, he has also been saluted for his love for others. He said during an interview with The New York Times that he hopes to pass on this trait to his children.

“It’s just certain tools that you would hope for your child to have,” said Jay-Z in the interview recently. “You know, like, again, fairness and compassion and empathy and a loving heart.”

He said those traits and aspects are the things that are more impactful, despite the billionaire status he and his wife, Beyonce, have earned throughout their careers. He said he hopes that his three children (Blue Ivy Carter and twins Rumi and Sir Carter who the couple welcomed this past summer) will treat others with fairness and justice no matter their status or social/class level.

He added that he aims to show his children the same type of “affection” so they will be inspired to do the same for others. He reiterated that it’s the intangible things that are the most important in life.
