Amanda Bynes, Wyclef Jean Music Collaboration After Miley Cyrus & Drake Twitter Bash? Reported Rap Career in the Works
Amanda Bynes announced her career change from acting to music one week ago and it seems her dreams may come true.
E! News reported on June 18 that she was scheduled to meet Fugees raper Wyclef Jean on Monday to discuss working together on her first album. Ching Changa records CEO Daniel Herman told the news station about the possible partnership, saying he thinks Bynes working with Jean "would be perfect" and "linking the two of them will be something major."
Jean is "receptive" to the idea of working with her because Bynes has "such a great voice," according to Herman.
"Singers wish they could hit the notes that Amanda does," he added.
Herman also added that her album "is going to shock the world."
Herman first announced his collaboration with Bynes in an interview with Radar Online, published on June 10. He said Bynes' music project has already been greenlit by two record labels.
"I cleared the project with The Orchard and Sony Entertainment and they gave me the green light to go ahead," Herman told the gossip website.
Herman said at the time he has already "reached out to Amanda's attorneys to negotiate the deal." He then explained why he wants to work with Bynes on a hip-hop album:
"The fact that Amanda wants to do hip hop music means that Chinga Chang label is the best place for her to do this, because of my past experience with bringing pop and legitimate hip hop together."
Herman also referenced Bynes' obsession with Young Money rapper Drake and said that he thinks Bynes is "more gangster than Drake."
Bynes first revealed she was working on the early phases of a music career in a tweet on June 12. She shared with her followers on Twitter that she was "looking forward to recording my album and going on tour!"
"I can't wait to see you all at my concerts!" she wrote.
Bynes' career change follows hurtful Twitter posts she uploaded that were directed at Miley Cyrus and Drake, calling them both "ugly" in separate occasions.
