Actress Mindy Kaling might have been happy and funny on Hulu’s The Mindy Project, but when it comes to her personal life, she plays no games. The star has refused to reveal who fathered her newborn baby girl and fans aren’t really happy about it.

News hit earlier this week that Kaling became a first-time mother when she welcomed her daughter. Still, of course, the follow-up question is, who’s the father? Well, we won’t be finding out anytime soon as Kaling doesn’t plan on telling the public. Still, fans have given their bets on Twitter and said they are convinced it’s Kaling’s best friend and rumored boyfriend, B.J. Novak. Take a look at what fans said below.

We shouldn’t really hold our breaths waiting for Kaling to reveal his identity. Rumor has it the actress has zero plans on letting fans know who fathered her child.

“She’s not telling anyone, not even close friends, who the father is,” one insider told PEOPLE magazine over the summer, when news first hit that Kaling was expecting. Another source also revealed that the pregnancy was certainly “an unexpected surprise” for Kaling.

Kaling had also been vocal about her plans for kids a couple of years ago. She said in one interview that she wouldn’t “actively plan” to conceive, but if it happened, so be it.

Considering we don’t know who the father is, it’s also interesting that she added, “I’m not cavalier about who I would have a kid with. But the thing I ask every parent that I really admire, the one comment they all have is that they wish they had kids earlier.”

A Telling Birth Certificate?

While she has gone to great efforts to conceal the identity of the father, the birth certificate has already been obtained by The Blast. What we do know is that Kaling paid tribute to her mother, and named the child Katherine Swati Kaling. She was born at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Mindy’s late mother’s name is Swati. Mindy is listed as the mother but the father’s name was not in the legal document.

Meanwhile, Kaling has still been working hard. She recently ended the successful The Mindy Project earlier this year and is slated to star in the highly anticipated Ocean’s 8 film that hits theaters next summer.
