ABC's hit crime drama, Castle, recently closed out its fifth season with Castle (Nathan Fillion) proposing to girlfriend and New York City homicide detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic).

In a nicely constructed cliffhanger, the Season 5 finale ended prior to Beckett giving an answer.

According to an interview with OTRC in May, actress Susan Sullivan, who plays Castle's mother Martha, chimed in on the her onscreen son's marriage proposal.

"Well, as a fan of the show, I look at it as his mother. I'm totally immersed in this character. I think I worry about him with this woman, to be quite honest with you," she said.

Much like most real-life unions, Sullivan feels as though the creative brass shouldn't rush tying the knot between Castle and Beckett.

"I think they have to play this proposal out. So that's what I would hope it would be about and I would think, if she had a brain cell working, she would accept. So there. Quote that. And not get married until the end of season 8," Sullivan added.

Although no airdate has yet to be officially revealed, all indications point to the show starting up again on either Monday, September 23 or the following week, stated the TV site.
