All Mariah Carey Wanted For New Year's Eve Was Some Tea
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the shadiest of them all? It's Mariah Carey, clearly! Or maybe not.
On Sunday, the diva took the stage at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve despite the unfortunate and somewhat disastrous performance that plagued the ears and eyes of everyone last year.
For those that might not remember, Carey's singing career was the "final" victim of 2016. The singer's performance issues were evident from the start, as she claimed that she was unable to hear the music she was supposed to sing along with.
Throughout the December 2016 performance Mimi called on audio help, but unfortunately the help never came, which later caused the Grammy Award winner to walk offstage.
Well, Carey decided to redeem herself and her career and make another appearance at the annual New Year's Eve show. This time, Carey came to snatch wigs or maybe cups.
Mimi Wants Her Tea
The diva took the stage in the utmost diva form by wearing chic white fur coat and a dazzling nude dress. Mimi opted to serenade the crowd with a stationary mic instead of attempting a "choreographed" number. While the singer's performance was a success, her requests weren't.
During her performance, Carey paused in between songs to ask for some tea, but the "All I Want For Christmas" singer find out there was none.
"They told me there would be tea," Carey said.
Before continuing to her next song, Mimi couldn't get over the fact that her one request wasn't met.
"Oh, it's a disaster. Okay, well, we'll just have to rough it. I'm going to be like everybody else, with no hot tea," she continued.
While, Carey's 2017 might have ended cold, she kicked off 2018 in the warmest and best way possible.
Carey, later took to social media to shade those responsible for not having her tea. She posted a photo of herself sitting pretty in her flawless white fur and massive engagement ring from her ex-fiancé James Packer, holding a cup of tea, with the caption, "Found my tea!"
The songwriter definitely knows how to end and start a year. Mimi's photo instantly became the first and probably the most iconic meme of 2018.
Carey's photo reminded social media users of the iconic Kermit the Frog's "But That's None of My Business" meme.
"The first time life throws you a curve in 2018, just remember: Mariah Carey made it through without her hot tea. You can make it through too," one Twitter user wrote.
