It's been almost two years since Beyonce released her fourth studio album 4, and now Ne-Yo is giving a little insight about her follow-up album.

"I'm still putting stuff together for Beyonce's album," he told Billboard on Wednesday.

Ne-Yo, who also worked with Beyonce on the 2007 hit Irreplaceable, also added, "They're still trying to figure out what they want that to be, which I'm not mad at. Beyonce's the kind of artist where you're not gonna see it till it's right. And her fans -- they love her so they'll be patient."

In addition, Billboard reported that the singer has been working on the upcoming project since last summer. She also did a lot of recording in the Hamptons. Writers and producers like Ryan Tedder, The-Dream, Greg Kurstin and Sia are contributing to her fifth studio album.

There haven't been any official singles released for the album, but her recent songs like Grown Woman and Standing on the Sun are rumored to be a part of her next record.

Beyonce also spoke about the new album with Vogue when she appeared on the cover of the March 2013 issue.

She told the fashion magazine that her new album will be a mix of her previous albums 4 and I am ... Sasha Fierce. She also said that her experiences with becomming a mother will also make the album more "empowering."

"I just feel my body means something completely different," se said. "I feel a lot more confident about it. Even being heavier, thinner, whatever. I feel a lot more like a woman, more feminine, more sensual. And no shame."

Ne-Yo has also been working on Beyonce's husband's upcoming record Magna Carta Holy Grail.

"The thing about Jay is again you don't know until it's done," he told Billboard. "I went in, I did a session where I laid down a couple hooks but I have no idea what's going to be kept. I heard some of the new stuff. It's amazing. With Jay-Z it's hard not to be amazing."

The rapper's 12th studio album will be released on July 4.
