Enstars’ Official State of Reality TV Talent-Based Competition Shows: The 2018 Edition
Enstars loves talent competition shows and we are looking at some of the most prominent shows that will be debuting or returning to television airwaves this year.
The Four: Battle For Stardom
On Thursday, Jan. 4, FOX returned to the singing competition world with The Four: Battle For Stardom. What separates this reality show against the other shows is its honest bullish format.
Four artists will face off against other aspiring artists to win the right to compete in the finale. If the challenger is successful, they will take up their rival's seat. At the end of the competition, the winner will be instantly mentored by the show's panelists and will win the right to be called one of iHeartMedia's On the Verge artists.
At the helm of the show are its panel of experts: Sean "Diddy" Combs, DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, and record executive Charlie Walk. Both Diddy and Walk proved that they took their search seriously as they gave harsh critiques to artists that reminded viewers of Simon Cowell and disgraced Epic Records leader L.A. Reid when they appeared on the defunct The X Factor USA. Their controversial commentaries also reflect the harsh nature of the music industry.
American Idol's Return
Nearly two years after America crowned Trent Harmon as the final champion of the FOX incarnation of American Idol, the original Reality TV is back on a new television network: ABC. The show has a new set of judges, which include Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and recent Kennedy Center Honor recipient Lionel Richie.
The show's original host and current co-host of Live with Kelly and Ryan, Ryan Seacrest, will return to emcee the singing competition that transformed Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, and Adam Lambert into household names. The newest incarnation of American Idol is expected to start airing in March.
Clarkson Joins 'The Voice'
Speaking of the original American Idol champion, Kelly Clarkson is expected to join Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and returning coach Alicia Keys for The Voice's 14th season. Despite rumors of tension between Levine and Shelton during the show's fall season, both stalwart coaches will continue their journey to find the best-undiscovered voices in America when the show returns to NBC on Monday, Feb. 26.
Dancing With The Athletes
The Voice's closest rating competitor Dancing with the Stars is expected to return for a shortened season that will feature all athletes. ABC is expected to reveal both the competing athletes and the Season 26 air date some soon.
America's Got Talent Judges Audition Coming Soon
America's Got Talent has been busy finding the next Darci Lynne Farmer, Tape Face, Piff the Magic Dragon, and Barbara Padilla. The NBC talent competition's production team has been traveling across the country looking for the best-undiscovered talent that ranges from comedians to dance troops.
The Season 13 Judges' Audition is expected to tape in March at Pasadena's Civic Center Auditorium, and the Season 12 judges Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel are expected to return. Fashion icon Tyra Banks is also expected to return to host the 2018 season.
