Kelly Rowland 'Talk a Good Game' Album Track 'Dirty Laundry' & Beyonce Rumors Addressed in 'GMA' Interview [VIDEO]
While touring to promote her new album Talk A Good Game, Kelly Rowland's visited Good Morning America to speak about one of the album's controversial tunes - Dirty Laundry.
The song references her former Destiny's Child bandmate Beyonce and also hints at a rumored jealousy on Rowland's part. When asked about the song's lyric, "While my sister was on a stage... I was enraged," Rowland said the line is very often misinterpreted by listeners.
"The crazy thing about the song is that I was going through my own personal battle. So when she's doing her thing, I'm over thinking: 'What am I going to do next? What do I want to do with my life?'" Rowland said about Beyonce. "I'm going through this relationship. I'm smiling for people in public and in so much pain, and thinking about what I want for myself and just wanting more."
While some accused Rowland of being bitter because of the song's lyrics, the singer said the track is a "positive" thing for her. The song, which appears on her fourth studio album released on Tuesday, also discusses an abusive relationship from Rowland's past.
During the interview Rowland made it is clear that there is no animosity between her and Beyonce.
"I love my girls," she said while discussing Beyonce and the third Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams. Both even appear on the song You Changed from Rowland's Talk A Good Game and according to Rowland, all the girls agreed that they "sound so good together."
In a May interview with WKYS FM, Rowland also said that Beyonce was not even upset after hearing Dirty Laundry.
"She heard how real I was and was like, 'I'm so proud of you,'" she said. "It was the place that I was in, I was so young. My head was completely gone...That's what happened with my sister."
