'Teen Mom OG' Star Amber Portwood Accused Of A Drug Relapse
Amber Portwood was accused of being back on drugs on Monday night as the new episode of Teen Mom OG aired on MTV.
According to a new report, fans noticed that Portwood's pupils were looking extremely large during one particular scene of the show and suspected that she may be back on her medications - or back on drugs.
On Jan. 8, In Touch Weekly shared a photo of Portwood beside her friend who was starring on the same scene with the same lighting, and pointed out that Portwood's pupils hardly showed the coloring of her blue eye. Meanwhile, her friend, who also has blue eyes, appeared to look more normal.
Although many fans were skeptical about Portwood's appearance, others said that many other factors may have come into play in regard to the size of Portwood's eye appearance and noted that she shouldn't be accused of drug use when there were no other signs of any such thing.
While Portwood may not have been pregnant during the scene in question, the longtime reality star is currently expecting a baby boy with boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, later this year. Portwood also shares an older daughter, nine-year-old Leah, with ex-boyfriend, Gary Shirley.
In November, Portwood opened up to Us Weekly magazine about her decision to wean herself off her medications, despite having been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder. As she explained, she would have been putting her fetus in jeopardy had she allowed herself to become pregnant while taking her prescribed pills.
"I wanted to see if I was just unhappy because of the things that were going on in my life," she explained. "I needed to see where I was in my head and it's a beautiful thing because I just feel better. I feel happier and not so depressed."
According to Portwood, things were "rough" when she first quit taking her medication, but she knew that she had to go off the pills in order to see where her head was at. In turn, she's reportedly feeling much better.
