Ellen DeGeneres Reveals Father’s Passing On An Episode Of Her Talk Show
2018 is testing America's favorite talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres. DeGeneres revealed a family tragedy during a taping of her TV show.

The Emmy-winning talk show host shared the sad news to her audience that her father, Elliott, passed away. DeGeneres revealed that her dad was 92-years-old and devout Christian Scientist. The Finding Dory voice actor also told her audience that her father always had unconditional love for her and was one of the show's biggest fans.
"He was a kind man and was an accepting man. There was no bone of judgment in his body," said the talk show host.
DeGeneres believed that she and her brother, Vance, got their sense of humor from him. She also revealed the deep connection that he felt with the Warner Bros. Studio Lot. The comedian explained that her family took the studio tour and remembered seeing her father in awe of being in the legendary Hollywood movie studio.
She also shared a powerful photo with her studio audience. The picture featured a rainbow over the iconic Burbank, California landmark; DeGeneres stated that her father died minutes after she took the photo.

DeGeneres' on-air eulogy to her father was viewed over 1.17 million times on Twitter. The Jan. 11 tweet was retweeted over 9,200 times and nearly 83,000 times. DeGeneres' devoted fans immediately rallied behind the talk show host and consoled her.
"Sorry for your deep loss. We sure owe him a debt of gratitude for raising such an inspiring person. May calm and peace soon find you," wrote one fan.
"I'm so happy that your father got to live a long life and see what a great human being you've turned out to be. My prayers are with him and to your family," wrote another fan.
Celebrities such as KT Tunstall, Justin Guarini, and Carnie Wilson also offered condolences to the talk show host.
Disaster And Divorce Rumor Survivor
Elliott DeGeneres' death could not come at a rotten time. DeGeneres, along with her wife Portia de Rossi, were among the countless of people that were affected by the Montecito natural disasters. It was reported that the couple were among some of the home owners whose homes were damaged by Montecito mudslides.
Months before the mudslides, DeGeneres and de Rossi were among the 88,000 people that were forced to evacuate their California home due to the Thomas Fire. DeGeneres and Rossi's relationship was also tested by the tabloids even after they had a vow renewal ceremony after malicious gossip spread about their relationship was over.
DeGeneres did not release a statement regarding any burial plans for her father.
