'The Voice' Danielle Bradbery Proves Bullies Wrong, Looks Forward to Heading Home After Show Victory
Danielle Bradbery may have left Texas as a normal high school girl, but she will return to her hometown as the winner of The Voice.
What does claiming victory on the reality show mean for the 16-year-old singer? For one thing, she can now prove without a doubt that the kids who bullied her as a youngster were wrong in claiming she wouldn't make it as a singer.
"[They said] I'm not going to get anywhere in my singing career," Bradbery said, according to the New York Daily News. "Now I'm here and they are probably still in the same place being mean."
Bradbery is the youngest contestant to walk away from The Voice as a winner. However, the competition meant a long time away from home and Bradbery is looking forward to getting back to a more normal life.
"I haven't been home for a long time and I'd really like to sleep in my bed," Bradbery told the publication. "It would be a nice time to let everything soak in and see my friends and family."
Although the teenager now has a record deal in her near future, finishing out high school and then heading out to college are also still in the cards.
"I want to interact in school and going to college would be the normal thing I would like to do. Wherever this takes me, I would like to try to do that, too," Bradbery said, according to Life and Style Weekly.
