Justin Timberlake Tries To Convince Fans That He's 'Woke' In New Music Video
Justin Timberlake continues to prove that 2018 is going to be his year.
As fans await the release of his new album, Man of the Woods, the singer dropped a music video for his second single, "Supplies."
The video begins with Timberlake sitting in front of several television screens that feature footage of figures such as Donald Trump, Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey.
Flashes of protest signs also appear on the screens that read, "End Racism Now" and "Me Too" as well as scenes of police brutality and anti-racism demonstrations.
Timberlake appears as some sort of resistance fighter, as he steps out into a post-apocalyptic word populated by creepy cult-like members, alligators and his record producer, Pharrell.
The video ends with the singer waking up in the aftermath of the final battle where a little girl talk into the camera.
"You're still asleep. Wake up," she says.
Fans did not hesitate to share their thoughts about Timberlake's new "Supplies" video.
Timberlake Stands With #TimesUp
Timberlake's "Supplies" video might have received some negative reactions, because he hasn't responded to the controversy surrounding Woody Allen. Allen has been accused of molestising and assaulting his daughter, Dylan O'Sullivan Farrow for 20 years.
Fans were surprised that Timberlake has not commented on the allegations due to his involvement with Allen's film, "Wonder Wheel."
At the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, the "Suit & Tie" singer, also sported a TimesUp pin in support of women coming forward with their experiences of sexual harassment and aims to promote equality and safety in the workplace.
Timberlake's decision to stand with the #MeToo Movement caused Farrow to call him out for working with her father.
"I struggle with how a powerful force like Justin Timberlake can claim to be in awe of the strength of women and stand with them at this #MeToo movement and then in the next breath say that working with Woody Allen was 'a dream come true'". Farrow stated.
