The Lifetime network will premiere the original movie about convicted killer Jodi Arias, titled Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret, on Saturday, June 22, at 8 p.m.

Tania Raymonde portrays the high-profile convicted murderer, Arias, who was on trial for six months because autopsy records showed she stabbed her ex-lover Travis Alexander more than 27 times, slit his throat and shot him in the head on June, 2008.

Raymonde said it wasn't easy portraying Arias when filming began during the heart of the trial in April.

"The fact that the trial was ongoing was a huge challenge," Raymonde told AZCentral.com. "I made a conscious effort not to expose myself too much, but her trial was unfolding on every single one of our shoot days: new evidence, new testimony. And every time something happened in court that made me feel one way or the other, she would say something the next day that just tugged at my heart."

The actress, who is known for her once recurring role on ABC's Lost, said the constant evolution of her portrayal of Arias couldn't be avoided.

"We were filming a person's life story that hasn't been fully written yet," she said. "However, I had a couple strong initial feelings about Jodi that I kept close to my heart because I trust my intuition. As an actor, that's all you've got."

Arias was found guilty of murder in the first-degree on May 8 and the jury reached a verdict on May 15, concludingin in the second phase of her trial that Arias caused Alexander physical and mental pain. On May 23, the judge declared a mistrial in the sentencing phase of Arias' trial, after the jury failed to reach a unanimous decision in the third phase. Arias is now awaiting to be sentenced after the new jury selection begins in July.

According to one of the screenwriters, the script was completed in December, six months before Arias' conviction. However, the script was rewritten after Arias was convicted on May 8.

"This project was in the works over a year ago," the film's screenwriter Richard Blaney told AZCentral.com. "This thing didn't move as fast as everyone thinks. We completed the script in December. We had a pretty good take on where she was coming from. We never really doubted that she was the bad guy."

The cable network's original movie was directed by Jace Alexander, and the script was written by Blaney and Gregory Small. The movie's executive producers--Joshua D. Maurer, Alixandre Witlin and Judith Verno--worked together previously on other Lifetime courtroom and crime dramas, including Prosecuting Casey Anthony, 2011's Amanda Knox: Murder On Trial In Italy and Drew Peterson: Untouchable and The Craigslist Killer.

Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret will air on Saturday, June 22, at 8 p.m. on Lifetime. A one hour documentary, Jodi Arias: Behind The Deadline, will immediately follow the two-hour original movie.
