Selena Gomez Wants To Show Mom, Mandy Teefy, That Justin Bieber Is A Changed Man
Selena Gomez wants her mom to know that her boyfriend, Justin Bieber, isn't the same man she dated years ago.
According to a new report, Gomez wants to prove to Mandy Teefy that Bieber is a changed man and hope that she begins to give him another chance after seeing that the singer is currently on vacation with his mother, Patti Mallette.
On Jan. 19, a source told Hollywood Life that Gomez hoped Bieber's trip with his mother will “demonstrate to Mandy how important family is to him.”
“It serves as a display of what he’s hoping Selena can achieve with her mother someday,” the insider said. “He feels terrible for Selena that her mother won’t accept him, and sympathizes with her and what she’s dealing with. Justin wants to show Mandy that he has matured immensely, and that he can be to Selena what she is to him — his rock and support. Justin truly hopes Selena and Mandy can form a great bond just like he now has with his own mom.”
Gomez began dating musician The Weeknd in early 2017 and fans immediately believed that she was finally over her up and down relationship with Bieber. However, just weeks after Gomez and The Weeknd reportedly moved in together in New York City, Bieber was spotted leaving Gomez's home in Los Angeles and rumors began swirling in regard to the breakup of Gomez's romance with The Weeknd.
While nothing was immediately confirmed, Gomez and Bieber continued to spend time together and eventually, word hit the web of Gomez's breakup from The Weeknd. Then, only weeks after the split was announced, Gomez was caught kissing Bieber at a Los Angeles-area ice arena where her on-again, off-again boyfriend was playing an ice hockey game.
Although things between Gomez and Bieber seem to be going quite well, Teefy has made in no secret that she is not thrilled to see the singers back together. Teefy even spoke out against her daughter on Facebook recently, targeting the ongoing rumors against them and spotlighting Gomez's decision to work with Woody Allen.
According to reports, Gomez is hopeful that she and her mother will soon reconcile but when it comes to her relationship with Bieber, she isn't going to call it quits with the "Where Are U Now?" singer to suit her mother. Instead, she hopes Teefy will soon come around to the idea of Bieber being back in her life.
