Jesse Williams Spousal Support Increased To $50,000 A Month
Jesse Williams and his estranged wife, Aryn Drake-Lee, have reached a new spousal and child support agreement.
According to a TMZ report, a judge has signed off on a petition requesting that Williams pay his wife $50,000 per month. Drake-Lee reportedly asked for an increase based on Williams' ability to pay, which led the increase to go from $33,000 to exactly $50,695 a month.
Happy With The Final Arrangement
Under the new order, Drake-Lee will be responsible for maintaining payments under the family's residence. These include mortgage, property taxes, and home equity line.
She will also receive half of Williams's residual income from his work on Grey's Anatomy between September 2012 and April 2017. The activist will also pay an additional $50,000 for Drake-Lee's attorney fees.
Her attorney, Jill Hersh, told People that Drake-Lee was happy with the final arrangement.
"Aryn is pleased to have an arrangement that will provide stability and continuity for the children so that their bests interests are the highest priority," Hersh stated.
The Couple's Divorce
In April 2017, Williams decided to file for a divorce from Drake-Lee after five years of marriage. The reason for their divorce was never confirmed, but the actor did admit to cheating.
In an 11-minute Tidal video for Jay-Z's album 4:44, Williams opened up about their divorce and addressed the alleged cheating rumors.
"I was in a relationship for 13 years, 13 years, not five years, not seven years - 13 years," he said.
The Grey's Anatomy actor also revealed that he was hurt to see sites blaming him for throwing away his relationship with a woman that he worked with. The woman was reportedly Williams' The Butler costar, Minka Kelly.
The Agreement On Custody Of Kids
Along with the filing for divorce Williams also requested for physical custody of their two children, Maceo, and Sadie.
In July 2017, Drake followed Williams' filing and filed for sole custody of their children. She also requested that Williams keep his girlfriends away from their children until they have been dating for at least six months.
Following Drake-Lee's filing, the couple was granted joint legal custody of their kids. The judge signed the order on Aug. 30, 2017, days after they attended their hearing on child custody, child visitation, and co-parenting matters regarding their children.
According to the documents, Wiliams will have the kids for two times a week after school, except for one day when he will have the custody after school until school commences for each child the following day.
