Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Baby Name North West, Nicknamed Nori
Five days after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their baby girl, the couple have finally picked a name.
The reality star and the rapper named their daughter North West, a source confirmed to People. The source added that the "birth certificate is out" and that the little girl, born five weeks early, has no middle name.
The first child for Kardashian and the rapper, 36, already has a nickname, the source added: "They will call her Nori for short."
(One prevalent rumor suggested that the baby was named Kaidence Donda West, taking her middle name from West's late mother Dr. Donda West.)
Back in March, Kardashian, 32, denied rumors that her boyfriend wanted that name for their baby.
"I do like Easton, Easton West," she said on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno at the time.
TMZ first reported the name news Thursday night, citing the birth certificate from Cedars-Sinai hospital. North was born ahead of schedule on June 15 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills. According to Us Weekly, the couple and their new bundle of joy are doing just fine.
"Everybody is doing great," the source said. "The baby is so sweet. Kanye is in love. Kim's real due date was July 12 -- Kanye's mom's birthday. That warmed his heart."
Earlier reports indicated that Kardashian was recently released from the hospital after given birth five weeks early. She is said to be resting at a private location.
While fans await more news of the little girl, it was reported that the new family will move into her mother Kris Jenner's home until the couple's Beverly Hills mansion is finished. Jenner gushed about her new granddaughter on Sunday at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
"We're happy, everybody's good and she's beautiful," she said.
Kardashian, known to tweet her personal life, has not written a Twitter message since giving birth.
Her younger sister, Khloe Kardashian, updated fans on Sunday, by tweeting: "I cannot even begin 2 describe the miracle that is now a part of our family...Mommy/baby are healthy & resting. We appreciate all the love."
