Kim Kardashian Twitter Backlash for Baby Name North West, Daughter with Kanye West
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West revealed the name of their baby girl Thursday and already the name has received backlash from Twitter users.
The couple named their first child together North West, saying they plan to nickname the child Nori. The little girl, born five weeks early, has no middle name. Since the announcement on Thursday, Twitter has flooded with users giving their own opinions on the name, some more harsh than others. Despite the criticism however, some are in full support of the unique name.
The child will be first cousins with Kourtney Kardashian's kids Mason and Penelope. Some were surprised Kim decided to break away from the K-named tradition in her family. She and all her sisters have the same initial.
One Twitter user wrote, "Kim and Kanye named their child North West well i feel sorry for that child bc ew." Another user tweeted, "Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby's name is North West idk why i have a feeling the kid will get bullied."
The reason behind the name has not been confirmed by the couple. Other celebrities to give their child unique names is Beyonce naming her daughter Blue Ivy, Gwyneth Paltrow naming her daughter Apple, Torri Spelling naming her daughter Hattie and Courtney Cox naming her daughter Coco.
