Chris Brown Axes Rihanna Duet Off 'X' Album Because of Karrueche Tran Relationship? [PHOTOS, VIDEO]
Chris Brown has reportedly axed his duet with his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna from his upcoming album, X, according to reports.
The Fine China singer dropped the track he recorded with the Stay singer prior to their break up from the listing for his sixth studio album.
A source reveaed to The HollywoodLife.com that Brown is very adamant about the decision, despite the singer's record label pushing him to think twice.
"Just saw the working track list for 'X' yesterday - Rihanna is not on there. Record execs wanted that song on there, but Chris said he would rather not and wouldn't allow the record to be released unless they took it off," the source said.
The source also revealed that executives think the song with Rihanna will do well, despite how Brown feels.
"They're still hoping to convince Chris or pay him more to change his mind because it would be a hit. The record hasn't been pressed yet, so things can change, but at this point he's not changing his mind," the source added.
Prior to the former couple's breakup, Brown told USA Today in March that Rihanna would be on his new album.
"We're taking it one day at a time. She's a wonderful girl. She's beautiful," he said. She's on tour and our schedules don't allow us to be as close as we want to be. But everything is good. She will be on my album."
Since Brown split from Rihanna, he has been spotted with his other ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
Sources said the two are just friends and enjoy each other's company because Tran is more easygoing than the pop superstar.
"They're just living," a source said. "They're fine. They don't have a title on what they're doing."
"He's in charge of his relationships and calls the shots with Kae and she's down with that," the source continued. "[He's] cool with where things are with her and so is she. It works out great for his a--."
