Cher Lloyd, whose debut album Sticks + Stones was released in the U.S. in 2012, is getting ready for some new material.

The former U.K. X Factor contestant said she will showcase a different side of her on the new album.

"I've slightly veered off a little bit from this sort of bubblegum pop stuff I used to do. I feel like I've grown a lot over the past couple of years," she told Idolator in a Friday interview. "So I think it's time for me to venture out and not play it safe anymore. You might hear some crazy stuff very soon - maybe a bit of garage, a bit of drum and bass. I'm bringing my English back."

Her third single Want U Back, for example, is a catchy upbeat pop tune, which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard charts.

She also revealed that she will be working with Swedish producers on the sophomore record. One in particular she noted is Shellback who will also executive produce the whole record. The Grammy nominated producer has previously worked on material for Pink, Taylor Swift and Britney Spears.

The 19-year-old British star told Idolator that she is "extremely lucky" for the opportunity to work with him.

"When I think about it, I'm like, 'Wow, what's going on? What happened?' I must have smiled a lot at him or something," she also said.

While the album release date has yet to be confirmed, she said people will be "very shocked" with it.

"I'm changing and I'm growing," she added. "I can't have glitter on my eyes forever."

Lloyd also appears on a new song It's All Good with Ne-Yo. The song is a promotion for Fruttare, a frozen fruit bar company.

The singer is also featured on Demi Lovato's fourth studio album Demi, which was released in May. The two collaborated on the song Really Don't Care.

"She's so honest and quite honestly, I've never said this before, but I really look up to her," Lloyd told The Huffington Post of Lovato.
