‘Deadpool 2’ Debuts New Trailer With New Character Cable
One of the most significant antiheroes of the 2010s is about to make a comeback on the silver screen. He also has a new playmate.
Cable Makes His Debut
2018 is expected to bring a lot of new characters to the silver screen. However, every X-Men fan is waiting to see Cable (Josh Brolin) make his big screen debut.
Deadpool 2's new trailer kicked off its latest sneak peek by giving fans their first look at Cable. The militant mutant shared a bit of his origin with the viewers.
"What's the most pain you ever felt?" asked Cable.
Deadpool's Action Figure Theatre
The Merc with a Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) interrupts the trailer when he found out that CGI department did not insert Cable's famous cybernetic arm into the teaser. This could be seen as a dig to Justice League as fans complained that Warner Bros. did not remove Henry Cavill's mustache thoroughly
After numerous complaints, Deadpool takes over the trailer, and viewers find the assassin with a Cable action figure in his hand. He made fun of his future adversary while tearing up a fake city. Next, Deadpool made fun of Disney as he dressed up as Toy Story's beloved Sheriff Woody.
The action figures have a fight, and Deadpool makes fun of his super healing powers and having the ability to resurrect himself. Before the battle concludes, the Merc with a Mouth is interrupted by an off-screen timer and promptly stops playing with the action figures.
Return Of The Trailer
Once the trailer resumes, it shows Cable with his trademarked cybernetic arm as he faces off against numerous foot soldiers before exploding their headquarters. The trailer also showcases Deadpool, Domino (Zazie Beetz), and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) in action.
The trailer comes to a close when Cable encounters an unmasked Deadpool and Blind Al (a returning Leslie Uggams) at their home.
"Your time is up, you dumb f---," said Cable.
"Well, that's just lazy writing," said Deadpool to the camera.
The Story So Far
In addition to Brolin's Cable and Domino, Deadpool 2 is expected to feature other characters from the X-Men universe. The film will also star actress Morena Baccarin in a seducing role.
There were also rumors that featured Hugh Jackman reprising his role as everyone's favorite Canadian mutant in the sequel. However, Jackman put a rest to those stories when Wolverine was killed off in his 2017 film, Logan.
The original Deadpool received praise from fans and critics alike.
Deadpool 2 is expected to hit theatres on May 18.
