Drake's attempt to enter the Miami Heat's locker room after the team's NBA championship win on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs was unsuccessful.

The 26-year-old was caught on video being stopped by security who said that only media was allowed in the locker room.

Drake, who looked annoyed by the rejection, told the security, "I am media."

NBA reporter Alex Kennedy wrote about the incident on his Twitter page.

"Drake was just stopped by security. He tried getting in the locker room without media pass. "I am media," he said with a laugh," he tweeted.

Drake, in fact, was still laughing after the incident.

"I am media. Hahahaha," he wrote on his Twitter. "Ah man. Good times," he added.

Despite not being allowed into the locker room, Drake still celebrated the win with the Heat basketball players, including LeBron James and Dwayne Wade at a night club a few hours later. Wade's girlfriend and actress Gabrielle Union was also in their company. A video caught Drake and James eating pizza while the rapper's music played in the background. The Canadian native also performed his song Started From the Bottom. Watch the video here.

With tons of bottle service, the night cost the team $100 thousand, according to E Online.

"Yo Miami we won, let's turn it up," James was heard saying in another video.

The Heat beat the Spurs in Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals 95-88. Read about highlights from the game here. The team also won the championship last year.

"I work on my game a lot, throughout the off season I put a lot of work into it and to be able to come out here and the results happen out on the floor it's the ultimate," he told ESPN about the victory. "I'm at a loss for words."

After LeBron was asked how he feels about people's scrutiny he said, "For me, I can't worry about that everybody says about me."
