'Charles In Charge' Actor Alexander Polinsky Accuses Scott Baio Of Physical And Mental Abuse
While many are still reeling from the shock of Nicole Eggert's allegations against Happy Days star Scott Baio, another actor has come forward to accuse Baio of unlawful behavior. Actor Alexander Polinsky recently accused Baio of physical and mental abuse.
There Is No Excuse
Polinsky's statement against Baio was read during Eggert's interview with The Talk. Polinsky claimed that Baio was "unpleasant" to work with during their time on the set of Charles in Charge. The actor also claimed that he witnessed Eggert being mistreated by Baio on several occasions.
"Working on the set of Charles in Charge from age 11 to 15 was no picnic. It was a toxic environment. I witnessed Scott Baio acting inappropriately towards Nicole Eggert during my first year of working on the show. I walked in on them together behind the set. Nicole was on Scott's lap and he did not appreciate my intrusion. He yelled at me and called me various homophobic slurs," Polinsky stated.
Polinsky elaborated further on the abuse he suffered at the hands of Baio.
"Growing up on the show I received regular verbal attacks, mental abuse and I also suffered a physical assault at the hands of Scott Baio. There is no excuse for his behavior. It is abhorrent," he continued.
Polinsky ended his statement by pleading for the cycle of abuse to end for future artists and actors who want to pursue their dreams.
Is Baio Going Down?
Baio has previously been accused of molesting and physically abusing Eggert from the ages of 14 to 17. The actress brought up her allegations against Baio on Twitter. Since then the actress has made several guest appearances on talk shows to recount her story. The actress stated on the Megyn Kelly Today show that Baio "fingered" her in his car before repeatedly abusing her.
On Entertainment Tonight, the actress also claimed that she once tried to commit suicide after being abused by Baio. She further elaborated that the actor would physically abuse her after saying she wanted to date boys her age.
Baio has maintained his innocence since the allegations began. The Joanie Loves Chachi star claimed that Eggert changed her story drastically throughout the years and that it would have been impossible to abuse her on set.
Baio also urged Eggert to go the authorities with her story as he believes that he will be exonerated of any crimes.
