Drake Donates Over $200,000 To The Miami Community
As cold temperatures continued to overtake most of the United States, many Miami citizens in Florida are experiencing the warmth of a megastar.
Drake Delivers A Surprise
On Feb. 6, the Degrassi: The Next Generation alum visited homeless shelter Lotus House in Miami, Florida. He surprised the residents with $150 gift cards from Target
Next, Drake continued spreading his good cheer to the Lotus House organization by donating a $50,000 check to Lotus House. He hoped that the organization could use the money not only to increase the quality of life for Lotus House residents but also to buy new toys and games for the children.
Attention Shoppers, Your Groceries On Drake
Billboard reported that Santa Drake was not done with his generosity. That same day, a Miami grocery store, Sabor Tropical Supermarket, received their best sales day ever as the "One Dance" artist paid for over $50,000 in groceries.
One of those lucky shoppers who was at Sabor Tropical Supermarket was Guille Deza. The Miami native took a selfie with the hip-hop icon as he was exiting the grocery store. He later shared on Twitter about his lucky encounter.
Before visiting both Sabor Tropical Supermarket and Lotus House, the rapper began his Miami journey on Monday, Feb. 5, when he visited Miami Senior High School. The rapper gave the school over $25,000 in donations and also surprised their band by giving them new uniforms.
The fan-favorite rapper was in Miami to shoot a new music video for his latest single. Page Six revealed that multiple residents spotted crew members filming all of the action.
Drake's Greatest Moments
In addition to handing out numerous donations to the people of Miami, Drake has showcased a plethora of surprising activities over the past few months.
Last month, Drake opened his first restaurant called Pick 6ix in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. Sources state that Pick 6ix features marble walls and a 2,100-square-foot open patio enclosed by glass.
On Dec. 8, 2017, Drake released his clothing line called October's Very Own. This collaboration with legendary fashion brand Canada Goose includes scarves, beanies, and a variation of hats.
In November 2017, Drake stopped in the middle of a concert in Australia as soon as he saw a fan molesting a concertgoer.
"Stop that sh--. If you don't stop touching girls, I'm gonna come out there and f--- you up. If you don't stop putting your hands on girls, I'm going to come out there and f--- your ass up," screamed Drake from the stage.
Drake's threatening message went viral.
