Kim Kardashian Goes Blonde For Vogue Taiwan’s February Beauty Issue
Kim Kardashian West landed her sixth Vogue cover just a few weeks after giving birth, by surrogate, to daughter Chicago West, and it is stunning.
Yet Another Beautiful Cover
The 37-year-old mother of three shared the gorgeous picture with her 100 million Instagram followers.
The cover for Vogue Taiwan's February Beauty issue showcases a more subtle look for the super-glamorous Kardashian sister. She explained in the post that she's discussing her KKW Beauty makeup range in the interview, for which she models six different beauty looks.
Kardashian West debuted her showstopping icy blonde look at New York Fashion Week back in September. This is her second cover as a blonde, with her signature look being deep brunette much like her famous siblings.
Kardashian West also appeared as a blonde on a June 2015 cover for Vogue Brasil, the look for which was inspired by the most famous blonde of all time, Marilyn Monroe.
The social media superstar and business mogul has appeared on several international Vogue covers over the years, including Spain (Aug. 2015), Australia (Feb. 2015 and June 2016), and the U.S. (Apr. 2014).
Keeping Up With Anna Wintour
Kardashian West's desire to land a Vogue cover was a major plot point on her hit reality show, Keeping up with the Kardashians. Her very first one, with husband Kanye West in celebration of their wedding, was a major talking point.
Many felt infamous Vogue editor Anna Wintour was losing her touch for allowing a low-rent reality TV star like Kim Kardashian to grace the cover of the legendary fashion magazine.
Kardashian West isn't the only one to come under fire for a Vogue cover. Supermodel sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid were criticized for their recently-revealed British Vogue cover, on which they pose together completely naked.
Inappropriate And Creepy
The two appear together, legs intertwined, with Gigi's hands placed tenderly on Bella's chest. The pose, in particular, has led fans to call the image creepy and inappropriate.
Steven Meisel took the picture of the Hadid sisters. The photographer is well-known for his provocative and sexy images including those featured in Madonna's book Sex.
"This picture is weird and doesn't make me want to read the magazine," one fan commented on the Instagram post sharing the image.
The accompanying interview focuses on how close the sisters, who frequently describe themselves as best friends, are. Gigi, the elder of the two, describes how she would do anything to protect her sister.
