Elba’s fans immediately hopped on Twitter with hilarious tweets about the heartthrob after officially being off the market.

Comedian and cohost of the daytime talk show The Real Loni Love might have taken the cake with her response. She posted photos of herself in place of other women who had taken photos with Elba from a photo collage. In one picture, she actually posed next to a picture of the actor. She showed appreciation for her fans who sent “their condolences” to Love in light of the news.

In another tweet, she settled for being a flower girl but then posted a video of a woman crashing a wedding.

Fans Share Their Heartbreak

One fan was many of those who pointed out that Elba once said he would never tie the knot again after his first two marriages ended. Still, his now-fiancée clearly was able to change his mind somehow. The fan went on to ask how they can get such “sauce.”

Another woman shared her hilarious response and questioned why there wasn’t a ring on her finger after she heard Elba popped the question.

One guy even stepped in and said he gave his wife the side eye after her heartbreaking reaction to the news.

A fan put out her own press release and said Elba’s future wife is the same age as her. She asked for her followers to give her some personal time. “I will not be taking any questions,” she stated.

Elba proposed to Dhowre Saturday just ahead of the screening for the film Yardie. The movie marks his first time sitting in the director’s chair. The big moment took place at the Rio Cinema in London. An attendee shared a clip of Elba’s big moment that clearly took everyone by surprise.

The two met during the making of his film The Mountain Between Us that was released last year. It was taped in Canada.

The theatre was one of the first to speak on the news.

Dhowre confirmed the news of the engagement on her own Instagram.
