Justin Bieber Selena Gomez Break Up & Split Causes 'Come & Get It' Singer to Have Breakdown?
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's breakup earlier in the year caused the Come & Get It singer to have a mental breakdown as she tries to deal with the split, according to a source.
The celebrity couple dated for two years and broke up in early January, though rumors of an on-and-off relationship have followed them since then. A new report citing a source said that Gomez is suffering from heartbreak over the split in the last few weeks.
A source allegedly said the former Disney star had a mental breakdown before her interview with 99.9 FM it Toronto recently, the International Business Times reported Monday.
Selena was on a promotional tour for her upcoming, 2013 album and was at the station to tape a sit-down interview with the morning team of Mad Dog and Maura, the source allegedly said. Before the interview, her rep told the radio show staff that they could not ask Gomez any questions about Bieber.
However, the morning team pulled a "playful prank" on Gomez.
"They suddenly played an audio tape of news clips about all of Justin's misbehaving, and they jokingly asked Selena to get back together with Justin, who was born in Canada, 'for the sake if out torn nation,' " the eyewitness at the station reportedly explained. "It clearly caught Selena off guard - and she began to cry! People stood in the hallway in shock as Selena rushed sobbing from the studio, tears streaming down her cheeks."
The 20-year-old's representative confronted the studio about the "funny prank," allegedly berating the studio executive for 10 minutes during which yelling could be heard from the hallway.
"In my 14 years in the industry, I've never seen anything so f**king unprofessional!" the eyewitness added.
Gomez eventually regained her composure and the interview continued as planned, though it never aired on radio airways.
Gomez continues to prepare for her Stars Dance world tour, which will kick off later in the summer, and Bieber recently resumed his Believe world tour. He will perform at the Staples Center in California on Monday.
