Sylvester Stallone Death Hoax Debunked: Actor Is 'Alive And Well' And 'Still Punching'
Sylvester Stallone wants you to know that he's not dead, contrary to the fake death report that was circulating on the internet.
'Rocky' Star Lives
The 71-year-old Rocky icon took to Instagram to dispute the alarming report of his death, posting the photo of the actual report that claimed he died of prostate cancer. It was an illness that he supposedly kept secret from the public.
"Alive and well and happy and healthy," Stallone wrote on Instagram, calling the report stupid. "Still punching!"
The report has been making its rounds on Facebook since 2016, according to Entertainment Weekly. At the time, the actor did not address the rumors circulating about his supposed death, but this time, it seems Stallone couldn't help himself from informing his fans that he's alive and well. His brother Frank Stallone also took to social media to slam the "sick demented cruel mind" that came up with the hoax death.
In a following post, Frank added that he's very protective of his brother, and the fake report upset their 96-year-old mother.
Stallone Projects For 2018
One only hast to look at Stallone's upcoming filmography to see that the actor is indeed alive and kicking.
The veteran action star is set to reprise his iconic role as Rocky Balboa in Creed II this year alongside Michael B. Jordan and Dolph Lundgren. Stallone was even supposed to direct the film at one point.
Just a few days ago, the actor shared a fan-made poster of the upcoming Creed II on his official Instagram page. It features Stallone as Balboa, Jordan as his protégé Adonis Creed, Lundgren as old nemesis Ivan Drago, and Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu, who plays Drago's son Viktor.
In Creed II, Adonis and Viktor are pitted against each other in a second-generation grudge match that began with their fathers.
Creed II hits theaters on Nov. 21.
Aside from returning to his best-known role, Stallone has a couple more gigs lined up for the big screen. Just for this year, he'll be part of Creed II as well as Escape Plan 2: Hades and Tough As They Come. He's also set to appear in the Escape Plan 3, which has no release date yet.
