Chris Brown Sends Rihanna A Special Message On Her 30th Birthday
It looks like Chris Brown just can't seem to let Rihanna go. Although the two may no longer be an item, the singer made it clear he still cares about his ex and hasn't forgot about her birthday even after all these years.
On Tuesday, Feb. 20, almost as soon as Rihanna's birthday began, Brown didn't waste any time wishing his ex-girlfriend a Happy Birthday.
The 28-year-old took to Instagram to share a childhood photo of the Barbados-born singer. Brown captioned the photo, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY @badgalriri."
Brown's message came as a surprise to his fans, due to the pair's tumultuous relationship.
Breezy And Riri
Although Brown and Rihanna met in 2005, they only began dating in 2008. Their relationship faced controversy a year later after Brown was accused of assaulting the "Work" singer.
However, the two got back together briefly in 2012 and released a duet titled "Nobody's Business" which was released on Rihanna's Unapologetic LP.
In 2014, during an interview with Billboard, Brown stated that he believes people continuously bring up the incident to hold his career back.
"As long as you're doing something good, people will always bring up old stuff or negative stuff because they don't want you to surpass a certain level or elevate," Brown said.
In 2017, in his documentary titled Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life, the R&B singer opened up about his relationship with his now ex-girlfriend and the episode that led to the physical altercation.
The Virginia native explained that the incident stemmed from a disagreement about his past relationships, which led to him violently hitting her while driving.
Brown's birthday shoutout to Rihanna might have been a surprise, but this isn't the first time he's mentioned Riri. On Feb. 9, the "Loyal" singer admitted that he would love to go on an epic world tour with Rihanna, Bruno Mars, and Beyoncé.
Rihanna as well as Bruno Mars and Beyoncé have not responded to Brown's tweet, but according to an insider, fans shouldn't get their hopes up. The insider claims that Rihanna would never tour with Brown because she feels the fallout would have a negative effect on her career.
Brown Wants Riri Back
Aside from admitting he'd love to go on tour with Riri and sending her some love on her 30th birthday, Brown has made other attempts to get the "bad gal" back.
A source close to the singer revealed that he has always been in love with Rihanna and has been trying to find out if she would ever talk to him again.
However, another source stated that Riri has no plans to work things out with Brown and if she did her family would not be happy about it.
"If Rihanna ever spoke to Chris again, her family would lose it. Chris should move on," the source explained.
Even if Brown attempted to win Rihanna back, it would take a lot as she has been romantically linked to billionaire Hassan Jameel, but the Instagram post is a start.
