Legendary Star Wars actor Mark Hamill will be getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 8.

Hamill, who people identify as Luke Skywalker from the epic space opera franchise, will join the legion of popular celebrities who have their names embedded in the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard.
He will be honored with the 2,630th brass star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a ceremony that will be held on March 8 to recognize his achievements as an actor.
The 66-year-old star will receive the honor in front of the El Capitan Theatre in the presence of Star Wars creator George Lucas. Harrison Ford, who played the iconic role of Han Solo in the Star Wars series alongside Hamill, will host the event along with Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
"Star Wars fans will be over the moon that hearing their idol Mark Hamill is going to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame," Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, said in a statement. "We are proud to add this extraordinary actor on our historic Walk of Fame."
Hamill's Achievements
Born in 1951 in Oakland, California, Hamill's always dreamed of becoming an actor. After graduating with a theatre arts major from Los Angeles City College, he earned his first break in 1969, when he signed with an agent after appearing in the play Anthems in E-Flat Calliope.
Hamill then bagged roles on television shows, including the daytime television medical drama General Hospital and the MTM sitcom The Texas Wheelers before he got his first feature film role in Lucas's Star Wars.
Although he is best remembered as Luke Skywalker, Hamill has also famously worked as a voiceover artist, particularly as the Joker in the '90s animated television series Batman: The Animated Series. He also lent his voice for the character in the video game Arkham Asylum as well as the animated movie Batman: The Killing Joke in addition to several other DC animated films.
His other credits as a voice actor include Avatar: The Last Airbender, Regular Show, and Dragons: Riders of Berk among others.
More recently, Hamill appeared in the 2014 action spy comedy Kingsman: The Secret Service as well as the latest Star Wars film, The Last Jedi. He will next be seen in the upcoming drama Con Man alongside James Caan and Ving Rhames.
