Jennifer Aniston Goes To Jason Bateman's 'Game Night' Premiere After Split From Justin Theroux
Jennifer Aniston has been lying low since announcing her split from husband Justin Theroux last week, but she stepped out Wednesday night to attend the premiere of her friend Jason Bateman's film Game Night.
Premiere Night
Aniston bonded with some friends during a night out in Los Angeles when she attended the premiere held at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood. A source said that the former Friends star skipped the red carpet and snuck inside the theater using the side door.
The insider added that despite her recent split, the actress seemed in good spirits at the premiere night. She also "looked great" and spent most of the night with the Game Night star and his wife, Amanda Anka.
"She was friendly but very low-key," the source tells US Weekly.
Media correspondents at the event, unfortunately, were not able to catch a glimpse of Aniston nor were they able to ask her questions about her split from Theroux. Bateman, a longtime friend of the actress, also declined to entertain any question about the 49-year-old's current state.
Entertainment Tonight's Cameron Mathison caught up with the Horrible Bosses actor on the red carpet and asked him questions about Game Night. The actor opened up about spending some amazing nights with Kristen Bell and her husband Dax Shepard, saying that the couple used to throw amazing game nights before they had children.
"They've got a great group of friends [and] they were kind enough to invite Amanda and I to join. Kristen and Dax have incredible spirit. Now, they've got two kids, so I don't think they are playing a lot of games anymore," Bateman said.
Mathison then tried but failed to get some information about Aniston from the actor.
"How's she doing, can I ask you that?" he asked, to which Bateman replied with a firm "No."
"I know you gotta do it right? You gotta do it. He did it! It's not his fault," the actor playfully replied.
The Split
On Feb. 15, Aniston and Theroux released a joint statement to announce that they have split after two years of marriage.
"This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship," reads the statement.
The last time Aniston and Theroux met was on Valentine's Day. They tried to work on their marriage with a vacation in Cabo, per the suggestion of Bateman's wife, who has acted as the mediator in recent months. However, even that vacation did not help fix their marriage.
