Oprah Winfrey Gave Her Co-Star Mindy Kaling The Perfect Gift For Her Daughter, Katherine
If your best friend isn't like Oprah Winfrey, you may want to trade besties! The celebrated media mogul just gifted her costar, Mindy Kaling a beautiful gift for her baby girl, and Kaling can't stop talking about it!
Oprah Winfrey: Best Gift-Giver Ever
Kaling shared with USA Today that she received a thoughtful yet unexpected gift from Winfrey after Winfrey's assistant called and asked if she could drop off a gift for Kaling's daughter.
The actress was stunned when she was notified that two delivery men would be coming to her house to deliver the elaborate gift.
"All you want in life is to hear that two men in a U-Haul truck are coming to your house because Oprah sent them. I was supposed to go to work that day [but I was like,] 'I gotta be here'," Kaling stated.
The Mindy Project star said that Winfrey gave her daughter a hand-crafted bookcase which she described as prettier than any professional dollhouse you've ever seen. The actress also noted that in the bookcase, each book in the case had the words, Katharine's Book Club in it.
"I held my baby up to it and I said, 'Did you see what Miss Winfrey did for you?' It was the most amazing gift," she continued.
Winfrey is not shy when it comes to being generous with gifts. The former daytime talk show host has spoiled her previous guests with elaborate gifts and continuously gives her best friend, Gayle King, the best parties and presents one could imagine.
Kaling and Winfrey are starring in the upcoming Disney Sci-fi action film, A Wrinkle In Time, that hits theaters on Mar. 9, 2018. The film also stars Reese Witherspoon, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Storm Reid, Zach Galifianakis, and Chris Pine.
The official synopsis for the film reads: "After learning her astrophysicist father, Alex, is being held captive on a distant planet deep in the grip of a universe-spanning evil, Meg Murry works with her highly intelligent younger brother, her new friend and fellow student Calvin O'Keeffe, and three astral travelers, Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who to save him."
The film is based on the 1963 novel written by Madeleine L'Engle.
Kaling gave birth to her daughter in December 2017 but has not revealed who the father of her child is.
