Mariah Carey fans aren't going to be thrilled to hear that the singer has postponed her next album's release date.

Despite announcing on Twitter on June 5 that her album The Art of Letting Go will be released on July 23, the singer has changed her mind.

"While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don't feel I would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23," she tweeted on Monday night.

She then added, "I'd rather not exclude meaningful songs. I want to give you this album as it's meant to be heard. When I'm ready, you'll be the first 2 know!"

The album's lead single #Beautiful, which premiered in May and features singer Miguel, is slowly climbing the Billboard charts. Three weeks ago, the song was No. 20 but currently it holds the No. 15 spot.

Miguel praised Carey after working with her on the song.

"Mariah [Carey] is, she is so fast. Her mind is is extremely sharp," he told Billboard in May. "I didn't really know what to expect, how involved she would be creatively but ... she was really behind the vision of #Beautiful being a duet between her and I. The video went with all of that. She's a mastermind."

For the album, Carey has also been in the studio with Bryan Michael Cox, Big Jim Wright, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Mike Will Made It, Young Jeezy and Rodney Jerkins.

When discussing the album with Billboard in March, the mother of two said the album will feature many ballads. She also said she "tried to keep the soul and heart" in the record.

This will be Carey's 11th studio album, without regards to her two holiday albums. Her last studio album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel was released in 2009 and peaked at No. 3 on Billboard.
