Chanel Iman Marries New York Giants' Sterling Shepard In Stunning Zuhair Murad Dress
Top model Chanel Iman weds football star Sterling Shepard on March 3 at Beverly Hills with the bride looking stunning in Zuhair Murad dresses.
With just three months ahead of time, the couple was able to finish the preparation with the help of celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss. The motif was a classic vintage, which Iman said was her preference because she wanted a timeless look.
The Engagement
Iman first met Shepard on Victor Cruz's birthday party, where the two were invited as guests. The New York Giants wide receiver introduced himself to his then future fiancée. A little over a year into their relationship, Shepard proposed to his girlfriend. The couple got engaged in time for Iman's 27th birthday.
To fast track the wedding preparations, the couple hired their dream team of designers, stylists, and event coordinators including Weiss and Anita Patrickson.
"My stylist, Anita Patrickson, really took control and handled dressing the entire wedding party," Iman said. "We've worked together for more than five years, so she has a real understanding of what I gravitate toward," she continued
Royalty-Like Wedding
During the ceremony, Iman wore a silk tulle embroidered gown with shimmering 3D intricate needlework. The 27-year-old model said the Camila gown was "chic and unusual but also something that felt a little vintage." Shepard, on the one hand, wore a Hugo Boss tuxedo for the exchange of vows.
Meanwhile, on the reception, Iman changed into a blush pink tulle accentuated by the dress's deep V-neck cut and intricate needlework. In a previous interview with Vogue, the Victoria's Secrets angel said the most important factor in her wedding dresses is that she would be comfortable and able to dance.
"His pieces always fit and complement my body, and his beadwork is exquisite," Iman referred to Murad's creations.
The 25-year-old groom then changed to a white jacket with black trim edges as she carried his bride into a sexy dance.
The wedding was attended by the couple's relatives and close friends including Chrissy Teigen, Gabrielle Union, and Joan Smalls. Iman marched down the aisle accompanied by her mother.
The altar where the bride and the groom delivered their respective vows was adorned with fresh white flowers. Weiss also designed the reception venue with white roses and lots of lights, as well as low centerpieces on the tables coupled with silk linens and rose-gold chairs.
Iman said that the idea of a vintage wedding theme is for the occasion to remain classic, something that she will not regret even 20 years later.
