What would happen if some of music's greatest were to take on The Voice's blind auditions?

One YouTube video paints an amusing picture of one such hypothetical situation. Merging a video of John Lennon singing "Imagination" with The Voice coaches' reactions to an audition, this video spoof has already received over 400 thousand views.

As Lennon performs, the judges react with criticism and derisive glances. Adam Levine looks around in confusion before giving an exhausted and final thumbs down to what he perceives as bad talent. Shakira gives a pitying glance while Usher looks like he is already feeling bad for having to tell the unseen singer to go back home.

As the seats spin back around and the coaches face the hopeful, Shelton suggests that the song was just a bit too emotional.

"It's almost like there's this entire story you have to tell in a very short amount of time, and it was a little bit subdued - a little bit! You really are a talented dude," Levine states, trying to cushion the criticism.

As the video heads to a supposed commercial break, viewers see that the next contestant is a young Bob Dylan.

While meant to be an amusing parody, the video makes an interesting proposition. While The Voice is one of the only shows to choose contestants solely on vocal abilities and not on looks, would a non-traditional sounding vocalist like Dylan make it? Would a reality show like The Voice pass on someone who would turn out to be a well-known talent?
