Eva Longoria Says She Relies On Kerry Washington During Her Pregnancy
Model-actress Eva Longoria is expecting her first child soon, and her friend Kerry Washington has been instrumental in the pregnancy journey.
In an interview, Longoria said it is Washington she would always come to ask for advice about her pregnancy. The Scandal actress has two children: Isabelle Amarachi, 3, and Caleb Kelechi, 17 months.
"Kerry has actually been one of my main friends that I've been leaning on during pregnancy," Longoria said on Wednesday. "She helped me find a baby nurse, and [figure out what] a doula is. She's been an endless source of information."
Aside from pieces of advice, Longoria said Washington also sends her resources to use during and post pregnancy. Example of which is a luggage full of maternity clothes, which Longoria said she has to add to before she passes it on to somebody else.
Extended Family
Recently, Longoria is photographed with friends Washington and Jane the Virgin actress Gina Rodriguez as they attended the Costume Designers Guild Awards (CDGA).
"Sisters from other misters. That baby's gonna have a lotta aunties!" Washington, 41, said in a photo posted on Instagram.
Longoria's attendance to the CDGA is in relation to the launching of her clothing line, The Eva Longoria Collection. The actress is just three months away from her due date, but that does not stop her from working.
News of Longoria's pregnancy was confirmed in December. She is married to Mexican José "Pepe" Antonio Bastón. Bastón, who has three children from a previous marriage, is the president of Televisa, the largest media company in South America.
The Texas native businesswoman and producer reportedly fell in love with Bastón because of his parenting approach.
When asked about the name of the upcoming baby, Longoria said there are still no definite plans for it. However, the actress said her son's name should not be weird, and it has to be Spanish.
Choosing Fashion During Pregnancy
Now that Longoria is almost seven months into the pregnancy, she certainly has to alter her clothes to fit her growing tummy.
"I'm not a fan of empire waist or A-Line things," Longoria said, adding that she chooses jumpsuits or bomber jackets.
In The Eva Longoria Collection, the actress-model said she and her team are working on women's fashion but are not considering venturing into maternity wear.
"I'm not Jessica Alba. I don't have three kids. I think I'm not quite in the mommy group just yet!" Longoria joked when asked by fans about maternity wear.
