The 2013 BET Awards will take place on June 30 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and Enstars has the list of the night's performers and nominees.
The show will be hosted by comedian/actor Chris Tucker. BET announced on Twitter on June 20 that Justin Timberlake has confirmed that he will perform on Sunday. The music network couldn't contain their excitement in the company tweet.
"ANNOUNCEMENT: Justin Timberlake, yes, you read right, Justin Timberlake (@jtimberlake) will be performing at the 2013 #BETAWARDS!!!!!!! 'RT'" read the statement on BET's social media account.
Timberlake joined the list of previously announced performers including Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Miguel and Kendrick Lamar. The nominations for the 2013 BET Awards were announced at a May 14 event hosted by Chris Brown, a very pregnant Tamar Braxton and this year's honoree Charlie Wilson.
The announcement revealed that Young Money's Canadian rapper Drake led the pack with the most nods this year - he earned a whopping 12 nominations for various categories including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Video of the Year and the Coca Cola-sponsored Viewer's Choice Award.
Last year's breakout rapper, Dr. Dre's latest protégé' Kendrick Lamar, tied with 2 Chainz for having earned the second most nominations of 8 nods each. Several other top artists of 2012 landed on the nominations list, including Rihanna, Beyonce, Miguel and newcomers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
A bevy of the music industry's most successful recording artists have been confirmed to perform on stage during the three-hour show. Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Lamar will perform during the live broadcast.
This year's honorees include two-time NBA champion Miami Heat player Dwayne Wade, who will be given the Humanitarian Award, and singing soul legend Charlie Wilson, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
