Selena Gomez Spotted In Texas - Is She Looking To Reunite With Her Mom, Mandy Teefey?
While Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are on a break, Gomez is reportedly spending her time trying to mend her broken relationship with her mother, Mandy Teefey.
The "Heart Wants What It Wants" singer was spotted in Texas where she is originally from, which is leading fans to speculate that the singer is in the process of making things right with her mom.
Gomez and her mother have had a rocky relationship since the singer reunited with Bieber and also starred in Woody Allen's film, A Rainy Day In New York. The former manager went on a rant on her Instagram page in January to defend her reasons for speaking her mind towards Gomez's recent decisions and behaviour.
"I have done nothing but protect my child her entire career against vile people that have way more power than me, even after I was no longer managing because I am her mom. I was drug through the mud for the entire month of December in the media and did not say a word...I did nothing wrong by defending myself finally and I answered the Woody Allen question because they were attacking [her]," Teefey wrote in the post.
Fans also suggest that Gomez is in Texas helping her cousin, Priscilla Deleon, who could be a jilted bride. Deleon was set to wed her fiancé, Jay Cosme, but reportedly the engagement was called off.
Gomez hasn't spoken about her relationship with her mother but did post a throwback photo of the two in October 2017.
Selena And Justin's Romance Woes
The two singers began dating each other in December 2010 but made their first public appearance together in 2011. They separated in November 2012 before officially breaking up in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, the couple were on-again, off-again.
Gomez started dating Canadian artist The Weeknd in January 2017. The two lived together for a short period of time before calling it quits in October 2017. Bieber was reportedly linked to Hailey Baldwin in the beginning of 2017.
Bieber and Gomez reunited after the latter underwent surgery for a kidney transplant. Gomez has been battling lupus since 2012 and was given a kidney from her best friend, Francia Raisa.
The couple reportedly decided to take a break due to the constant strain of the media focusing on their reunion.
