'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Trailer No. 2 Premiering July 20 at Comic-Con [VIDEO]
The new trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be premiering at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20.
Lionsgate, the film's production company, announced Wednesday that some of the film's cast members will make an appearance at Comic-Con in July. Catching Fire will have its own panel where the cast will answer questions about the film.
Most significantly, Lionsgate promises that a new trailer will be premiering at the pop culture convention. The only trailer released for the film thus far was in April, featuring President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) discussing how much of a threat Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) has become to the Capitol.
Fandango writer Dave Karger announced Thursday that he will be moderating the Hunger Games: Catching Fire panel, which will also include Lionsgate film I, Frankenstein. Karger asked fans to submit questions for the panel by posting on the Catching Fire Facebook page with the hashtag #CatchingFireComicCon. He added that answers to select questions would be posted on the page.
The Hunger Games did not have a panel at Comic-Con last year due to the film franchise's production schedule, according to Variety. The producers of Catching Fire made a presentation at CinemaCon in April where the first trailer debuted. The film's director Francis Lawrence and actress Elizabeth Banks (who play Effie Trinket) made appearances at the convention.
One of the film's stars, Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark) opened up about Catching Fire on June 20. "I think the story kind of opens up a lot," he revealed. "I mean, we kept the same idea of the first with the whole world, but we kind of bumped it up a little and made it a little more immersive, but it's really great." He added that they remained true to the novel upon which it is based.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set to be released in theaters on Nov. 22.
