It's a sad day for Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik fans. On Tuesday, March 13, the two confirmed that they have decided to part ways after two years of dating.
The pair was last photographed together when Hadid took to her Instagram to share several photos and videos from Malik's 25th birthday in January.
"Love this man more than I could ever put into words, & am inspired by his drive to be and do better every day. Cheers to YOUR YEAR my @zayn - happiest happiest birthday & 25th year of life !! I'm proud to be your side x," the supermodel wrote.
Gigi And Zayn Confirm Their Breakup
Following the announcement of their decision to split, the two posted heartfelt messages to their fans. Everyone will be happy to know that there seems to be no bad blood between the former couple.
Malik called Hadid an incredible soul and explained that he was grateful for everyone that is respecting their decision.
As for Hadid, she stated that she wants nothing but the best for Malik and will continue to support him as a friend.
Prior to confirming their breakup, fans began to speculate that there was trouble in paradise due to the caption on the former One Direction member's photo.
"When life throws you lemons, catch em so you don't get hit in the f--king face," Malik captioned the photo.
Hadid And Malik's Relationship
Hadid and Malik first sparked romance rumors in 2015 after they were spotted leaving an American Music Awards after-party together. The duo then teased their fans after Hadid made an appearance in Malik's "Pillowtalk" video. The single was the songwriter's first solo single after leaving One Direction.
Then in May 2016, the two officially went public with their relationship when they appeared on the red carpet together at the 2016 Met Gala.
In January, Hadid's mother, Yolanda Hadid, fueled engagement rumors after she told Us Weekly that the decision to get married is up to the two.
"It's their journey. I'm here to support in whatever their journey is. And you know, they're still young," Yolanda remarked.
