Bobby Brown Responds To Nick Gordon's Domestic Violence Arrest
Bobby Brown speaks out after his late daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown’s ex-fiancé, Nick Gordon, was arrested on domestic violence charges.
Bobbi Kristina passed away in an unresolved incident in the summer of 2015.
Bobby Brown Wants To Stop The Cycle
Bobby and his lawyer released a statement on behalf of the singer. Gordon was taken into custody amid claims he physically attacked his girlfriend, Laura Leal.
“Domestic violence killed my daughter, and on March 4, 2018, the Bobbi Kristina Brown Serenity House held our first event to strike back at domestic violence. I personally would like to extend my hand to Ms. Leal and offer her services through our organization,” said Bobby the statement.
Bobby continued and said no other families should be impacted by domestic violence and he wanted to stop women from having to go through what his daughter suffered. He ended the statement by saying he hopes Leal will respond to his request to help her.
Bobby’s lawyer echoed similar sentiments and said they want to have a conversation with Leal. They reiterated that the Bobbi Kristina Brown Serenity House was built to help women such as Leal who have suffered domestic violence.
Nick Gordon Maintains His Innocence
As for Gordon, he has denied getting physical with Leal. He maintained that he didn’t hit her and accused Leal of tearing his clothing and throwing a bottle at him. He said he wanted Leal out of his home.
Leal and Gordon made headlines together back in June after Leal accused Gordon of getting physical with her. It was the first time a report was filed against Gordon since Bobbi Kristina’s passing. Leal decided not to move forward with the complaint and dropped charges against Gordon.
Nick Gordon's History With Bobbi Kristina Brown
A judge ruled that Gordon was legally responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s passing and ordered Gordon to pay roughly $36 million to Bobbi Kristina’s estate.
Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious in the bathtub of the home she and Gordon shared together in February 2015. She was put in a medically-induced coma for months while reports swirled that she and Gordon had an intense argument the night before.
Bobbi Kristina was transferred to a hospice where she passed away a couple of days later. Her family said they are convinced Gordon had something to do with her passing and filed a civil lawsuit against him. Gordon has denied causing any harm to Bobbi Kristina.
