Jimmy Kimmel's ‘Movie: The Movie’ Heads to Over 5,000 Theater Screens

Movie theater advertising giant Screenvision will be showing a popular spoof trailer which aired on an ABC Jimmy Kimmel special just after the Oscars for a monthlong run at more than 5,500 movie theater screens.

The spoof entitled “Movie: The Movie” featured a cast of Hollywood celebrities in various over-the-top situations. On YouTube, the 9-minute trailer has gotten more than 14 million views as of March 23.

The trailer will be shown in 650 theaters and 5686 screens, ABC said Friday.

The trailer first aired on “Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards.” ABC says it is working in partnership with Screenvision to bring the trailer to movie screens.
