Kate Middleton and Prince William may not know their baby's gender, but that isn't stopping royals from speculating about whether the couple is having a girl.
Ever since the Duchess and William announced they were expecting a royal baby in December, there has been much speculation about the new arrival--from the gender to potential baby names.
While the official birth plans of Middleton and William's baby were revealed this month, royal fans were surprised to learn that the couple has yet to discover the sex of thier child.
Rumors first swirled that Middleton was having a girl when she reportedly slipped up, while accepteing a teddy bear from a local, and said, "Thank you, I will take that for my d.... "
With a few weeks left beofre the Duchess' is expected to give birth, public interest in the little boy or girl is at an all-time high. The hashtag #RoyalBaby is trending on Twitter, Hellomagazine noted. According to reports in the UK, research reveals that 52 percent of the population thinks that the future heir will be a little girl.
A survey conducted by Research Now revealed "Elizabeth" is the most popular girl's name, while "Spencer" is the most favorable with the public.
While neither the baby's gender or name is known, fans are aware that Middleton will deliver her royal bundle of joy at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, the same hospital Princess Diana had Prince William and Prince Harry.
The baby will be born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, a private facility that offers deluxe suites equipped with a bed, lounge, satellite television, Wi-Fi, a security safe and a refrigerator.
Middleton, who is currently on maternity leave was spotted flaunting her growing baby bump last weekend during a shopping trip in London.
Onlookers described Kate as "looking happy," as she was accompanied by a police officer.
"The weather was a bit windy, but she smiled as she walked around the town...Her bump is really big now!" the onlooker said.
New reports have indicated that the Duchess is reported to give birth around July 13-14, but she may actually be due 10 days earlier.
